Our Family Programs and Lab Classes are a treat for anyone that has an interest in marine life. Design your own t-shirt, make a shrimp aquarium, or feed our fish; it's all possible.
Does science have your interest? We offer fun and exciting laboratory classes such as squid dissection, and Jumbo Shrimp Dissection.

Interested in our workshops and lab classes for your school, scouting troop, family gathering, or any other group? You may qualify for our group rates. Would you like us to visit your school, child care center, or location? Most of our programs are also available as a mobile outreach program.

We had such a great time during our Mother's Day Craft Day so now it's time to appreciate all the dads of Hawaii. Take your whole 'ohana to the Marine Center to make a nice personalized gift as a token of love and appreciation.

Marine Center Admission is free with the purchase of a craft activity. Various crafts are available such as Carved Cowry Shell Magnets, Magical Air Plant Garden, Opae Ula pet shrimp aquarium, T-shirt printing, or an Ocean Themed Painting.

Aquaponics is an amazing and sustainable way to grow fish and plants in the same system. It works because the fish provide waste as plant fertilizer, and the plants clean the water. Interested to find out how it works? We'll teach you in a simple and easy-to-understand way. The best part? You'll get to make your own mini aquaponics system with plants to grow and actual fish.

The Nudibranch, or "nudi" is an amazing colorful type of sea slug that is great for artistic inspiration. With its exposed gills, pointy rhinophores, and colorful body, this animals is guaranteed your next favorite art subject.

Make a nudi painting with us and learn about this awesome ocean animal. Fried egg nudi? Blue dragon nudi? Spanish dancer? They are all amazing!

Workshop fee includes a canvas to work on, paint, brushes, and all other paint supplies.
