Our Family Programs and Lab Classes are a treat for anyone that has an interest in marine life. Design your own t-shirt, make a shrimp aquarium, or feed our fish; it's all possible.

This 90 minute visit of the Marine Center includes a guided tour of our tropical fish exhibits with one of our educators, Gyotaku fish print craft on paper, and a visit to our Discovery Zone to touch animals.

We use it all the time but have you ever wondered how it's made? This workshop focusses on the process of soap making. A wide variety of colors, scents, and other add-ons are available to decorate and create your own unique ornamental soap to take home.


Participants in the soap making workshop will create their own soap from scratch by using raw materials and adding their own color and scent. Decorative items such as beautiful sea shells can be molten in to make beautiful decorative soap.

Admission price includes the making of one soap with your own color and scent. Additional soaps as well as other add-on options will be available upon check-in at our Welcome Center.

NEW: using professional silk screening techniques, you can now design and print your own t-shirt.
You can also bring your own canvas bags, pillow cases, or other types of fabric to make as many prints as you like.

 

In this workshop, you will learn how silk screening works step by step. Send in your design to us (see right column for instructions) and you'll even get to create your own silk screen to professionally print as many shirts as you like.

Not done decorating yet? Our popular stamps and models of sharks, turtles, dolphins, and even an eel are available to use as well.

Send in your own design: 2-color (black and white only) designs no larger than 8 by 10 inches must be e-mailed to us no later than 4 days before the program. A $10.00 additional fee applies to use your own design. Silk screen and other materials remain the property of the Living Art Marine Center.
The LAMC reserves the right to refuse the printing of designs that are deemed inappropriate.

Keiki Pix is a beginner's photography course where you will learn basic photo taking skills to get beautiful photos of underwater creatures in our Marine Center aquariums.
